A couple of weeks ago we asked you to tell us about your favourite book for the chance to win an Amazon Kindle and as usual you didn’t disappoint! We got over 200 entries about every book imaginable, from Jane Austen to Jade Goody, from Jordan to Jacqueline Wilson!
Thank you to everyone who entered — we’ll put all your entries together and put together our Top 10 on our Facebook page very soon.
And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Our winner is Ian who entered his review of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Ian says:
My favourite book tells the heartbreaking story of someone who is completely insatiable. He travels far and wide across the land to find something to fulfil his desires but nothing he finds ever will. He is angry, confused at the world, and longing for comfort. Like many people, he just wants something to fill the deep hole that he feels in the pit of his stomach when he wakes up every day.
The reason I love the book so much is that it came to me at a time when I was confused and emotionally immature and I could truly relate to the pain and suffering that this guy went through on his quest for fulfilment. It taught me how to live… how to get what I want… and more importantly, how to feast like a King.
The book is, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Amazing!
Congratulations Ian and thank you to everyone who entered!
