One Direction swept the board last night at the MTV Video Music Awards and walked away with 3 moonmen statues.

The British boyband, who only burst onto the American pop scene 6 months ago, fought off strong competition from The Wanted, Justin Bieber and Rihanna to bag the awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Video and the fan chosen Most Share-Worthy Video Award!

The boys, who weren’t even a group until last year’s The X Factor, made history in March when they became the first act from the UK to see their debut album, Up all Night, go straight in at number 1 on the US Billbord 200 chart!

Those cheeky chaps are a firm favourite here at Mecca and Look Magazine share our love for them too, as you can see in their 100 Reasons We Love Them slideshow which has plenty of cute school photos and the boys as you’ve never seen them before!
