It really does all end here!  As it says on the many posters for the new and sadly the last ever Harry Potter film, the end has finally arrived.  Last night was the world premiere in London’s Trafalgar Square and did not disappoint the thousands of fans that had been camping there for days hoping to see the stars.

As the saga comes to an end after 10 whole years, the global community was out in force in their Harry Potter gear to wave goodbye to their favourite characters that have brought the books to life.  Last night’s premiere was the biggest the UK has ever seen and was a monumental occasion for the cast and crew for the films.  All eyes were on Emma Watson as she dazzled in a gorgeous Oscar De La Renta floor length gown and was clearly overwhelmed by the support of the fans and was overcome with emotion as she said thanks and farewell.  She said “I’ll just miss being Hermione and getting to live her life and in that world and getting to bring to life a set of books that I myself loved so much.”

She struggled to hold back the tears and it’s not surprising really!  She truly has grown up with the films as she was only 10 when she started acting in them.  “It’s overwhelming to try to find the words to say what I want to say, but I have been so privileged to play this role and be a part of these films.  I’ve had the most amazing 10 years of my life.  Thank you so much.”  You do get a real sense of family from the cast and crew as they have been working together for so many years so there was plenty of emotion on display last night and not just from Emma.

The huge scale of the Premiere mimicked the global excitement that is undeniable for the release of the last Harry Potter instalment.  Daniel Radcliffe said “I don’t think the end of the story happens tonight because each and every person who will see this film will carry this story with them through the rest of their lives.”

Aww, I’m feeling genuinely a bit sad to see the back of Harry P!  The last film looks epic (thankfully) which means that hopefully the story will end on a high.  There is so much anticipation for the last film to be the best yet and to live up to the expectations of the book and I really hope that it manages to do so.  I really do look forward to seeing the last film and can’t quite believe myself that it’s been 10 years since I first sat in the cinema excited to see the book had been brought to life!  Time to get the box set I think!!!

Can’t wait for July 15th:
