Channel 5 had barely booted out the final celebrity housemates before they chucked another 13 in for our entertainment! Yes, Big Brother – the non-celebrity, two month long version – began on Friday night.
We already knew there was a twist in store – Host Brian Dowling revealed on Thursday that Baywatch star Pamela Anderson would be joining the housemates as they begin their quest to become a TV presenter/singer/do a photo shoot for Nuts Magazine.
On seeing the latest crop of housemates, the first word that springs to mind is…young. The fact that 28-year-old Spearmint Rhino ‘hostess’ Rebbekah and 30-year-old father of one Aaron referred to themselves as the ‘oldies’ of the house says a lot about the average age!
Even Pamela Anderson noticed saying: “Oh I really am going to be the mother of the house!”
Pamela had been watching the launch show as it happened, and was revealed to the new housemates once they’d all arrived. Cue a lot of screaming.
“Are you Pamela Anderson…You’re like, really fit in real life too.” whined sales assistant Mark. Many other pearls of wisdom from Mark followed – leaving most of the housemates looking slightly confused… or trying to get away.
But prize for the biggest idiot of the show so far has to go to 19-year-old Aden. The psychology student from North London spent his time telling anybody who would listen that he’s slept with ‘more girls than the average guy’ – but he doesn’t like to brag about it. Right.
Conversation over the weekend centred around who fancies who. Yes, already! Model Maisy, dancer Tashy and wrestler (yes really!) Faye huddled in a corner discussing the various merits of the male housemates, while Aden and Anton seemed to have formed a bit of a ‘players’ pact already. In fact, it’s all Anton can talk about!
Back to resident celeb Pamela Anderson – who set a series of tasks. What the housemates don’t know is that the winner of each task – who have to wear gold swimwear and a cloak – will be immune from eviction this week!
Holistic healer Heaven (try saying that quickly!) was victorious in the first task – impressing Pamela with her samba dance moves – while Aden was chosen as winner of the second, after a speed dating session with Pamela.
SO that rounds up Big Brother news from this weekend – Pamela still has two tasks to set the housemates, and we’re just waiting for the bitching to begin! What did you think??
