TOWIE Series 3, Episode 4: “I’m going to pelt them with eggs”

If there’s one word that sums up the latest episode of ITV’s ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, it’s ‘bitching’ … and we’re not talking about the girls! If there’s one word that sums up the latest episode of ITV’s ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, it’s ‘bitching’ … and we’re not talking about the girls!

It seems those Essex lads are pros at a bit of behind-the-back-gossiping, and the claws were well and truly out last night!

New BFF’s Mario and Kirk started the bitch-fest, when Kirk visited Mario at work. What does Lucy’s new hunk do? We hear you ask. Is he a boxer, perhaps? Well, it turns out that the beefed-up Essex boy is a tailor! Ok, we know it’s not that funny, but we couldn’t help having a bit of a giggle at the sight of ‘hard-man’ Mario working a sewing machine.

The pair gave Mark a good old fashioned slating – calling him a “dog” and laughing at his “pigeon-chest”. We’re not quite sure what that means, but it doesn’t sound like a compliment.

Meanwhile, the Sam-Joey storyline continues to limp on, as the ex-couple met for a drink to “clear the air”. They exchanged a few words, Sam had a little cry, they went their separate ways. Anyone else completely bored by this now? Sam and Joey were so last season!

To be fair, Sam doesn’t really have much else to talk about – she features in a pretty pointless clothes montage with Harry at one point in the episode – which serves no purpose other than we learn that Harry does not, in fact, want to be a trans-sexual. Dear god someone give the girl a storyline!

Maria and Mick take the next step in their (slightly disturbing) relationship, as they go on a first date, on which they talk about the government – very intellectual – and Maria spits wine all over the place – classy.

Poor Gemma isn’t happy when she hears that romance is afoot between the two, saying she’ll “pelt them with eggs” if they ever get married. That, we’d love to see!

In other news, Kirk and Joey play conkers – wearing outfits that suggest they think they’re a couple of characters from the Famous Five books, while Jess prepares to open her underwear shop.

The whole gang turn up to the launch night of Jess’s lingerie line -  involving lots of nearly naked models and even more inevitable drama.

Mark finds out what Mario’s been saying about him, and the pair exchange tense words – Mark actually comes out looking the better of the two, which is a first!

Credit is due to Lucy, too – who apologises to Lauren for her behaviour in the past. We never thought we’d see those two being civil to each other, but after a very sedate conversation it seems the air is cleared! Take note boys!

Oh, and hilarious moment of the episode goes to Nanny Pat – who shocks Mark when she starts unpacking adult ‘toys’ as she’s helping Jess set up her new shop. His expression is priceless! “Oh this one’s got batteries!” she grins. Go Nanny Pat!

So, now you’re up to date! Tune in to ITV on Sunday at 10pm for more brilliant Essex drama!

Episode 6 of The Bachelor kicked off in a dramatic fashion, with everyone still reeling from the scandalous revelations of last week.

Gavin is still trying to decide what to do with the two girls at the centre of the drama – Morgan and Carianne – so invites both on a date, to find out once and for all where the truth lies.

And this is no normal date! Only one girl will be given a rose, keeping her in the competition, while the other will be sent home.

The girls set off to make pizza to eat with Gavin later – and see each other for the first time since Morgan accused Carianne of kissing a member of the film crew.

Can anybody say awkward? The poor chef teaching the girls how to knead dough must have wondered what on earth was going on, as the pair ignored one another, only to shoot a few evil glances across the table.

When they finally meet with Gavin, things get even more tense, as both sticks to her story like chewing-gum on a shoe. “I’m in a world of pain here” groans Gav, as it becomes clear he must now make a decision.

Except he doesn’t. Yep, Gavin bottles it – and decides to keep both girls in the competition, until he can “figure things out better.” – Oh and not one of the three even touched a slice of pizza – what a waste!

The rest of the girls have been feeling left out – as Gav’s attention has been well and truly taken up with Carianne-gate – and discontent begins to spread throughout the group when the news reaches them that Carianne has not been sent home.

So much so, that seeing both girls returning to the house is the final straw for Nikki! “You know what? I’m leaving” she says, after a heated row with Carianne. “He isn’t the man I thought he was.”

Who would have thought the only casualty of this whole thing would be Nikkie? She’ll definitely be missed.

The next ‘Gav Mail’ does nothing to relieve tensions, as it is revealed that Layla will be going on another solo date with Gavin – despite the fact many of the other girls are yet to have some alone time with the star.

Still, the date goes amazingly well, and it seems Layla is becoming a real front-runner in this competition! The pair take a romantic boat ride along the canals of Venice, and have a bit of a kiss. Actually – that’s an understatement, there is a LOT of kissing! Smitten much Gav?

Next, its finally the turn for the rest of the girls to go on a date!  So what will they be doing? A romantic dinner perhaps? A stroll under the stars? No – boot camp, with a former army officer. As you can imagine, there weren’t too many impressed faces!

Still, it did give them a chance to get hot and sweaty with the bachelor – April even lay on Gav’s back as he performed some pretty impressive press-ups! However it was Georgie who collected the rose guaranteeing her immunity – although not before she’d made sure that Gav knew how neglected they’d all been feeling!

And so finally, it was time for the all-important rose ceremony, and tensions were higher than ever. Morgan was saved, as was Carianne…. While Welsh Angharad was sent home, causing a lot of tears amongst the girls.

Oh Gav, you are causing some problems amongst those females!

We can’t wait for next week! ;)

TOWIE Series 3, Episode 3: “Let’s Put The Guns Down First”

The Only Way Is Essex continued on Sunday night, with another instalment of drama, awkward encounters and yet another outrageous outfit from Joey. The Only Way Is Essex continued on Sunday night, with another instalment of drama, awkward encounters and yet another outrageous outfit from Joey.

Ah, Joey – he’s the gift that keeps on giving.  This week, the gang are off paintballing for Other Lauren’s birthday, and Joey thinks a jacket over his bare chest, some tiny shorts and a rather jaunty hat are suitable attire!

Luckily his sister persuades him otherwise, but is unable to change the Essex lad’s mind about moving out. Joey living on his own? Oh dear, we can only imagine the trouble he’d get in to! As it is, big sis Frankie had to explain what a TV license is!

Control-freak Mario runs in to Mark at the gym, and they have a talk about Lucy, while both trying to look as macho as possible. To sum up a fairly long and pointless exchange, Mario has banned Lucy from talking to Mark and his family – Mark doesn’t really seem to care.

He has, however, given up on his 14-day celibacy vow (surprise surprise) after a chat with his dad, Mark Sr. Yes; the entire Wright family has now made it on to the show. Mark Sr. actually scared us a tad with his no nonsense chat! Still, after 8 years of hearing your son banging on about the same girl, it would be hard to remain sympathetic!

Lauren meanwhile, is fast becoming redundant and currently adds little to the show, bar hanging around with Other Lauren and Maria.

Maria is doing the opposite, and continues her bid to become more than just an extra by agreeing to go for a drink with Mick, much to the horror of Kirk – “the word sugar-daddy springs to mind”.

To be fair to her, Maria does attempt to clear the air during paintballing – perhaps not the best time to tell someone only a couple of years younger than you, that you want to date their dad? “Let’s put the guns down first” says Maria… proving she’s slightly cleverer than she looks.

What is Mick thinking anyway? He seems to spend his time perving over his son’s friends, and hanging around them at various events… does he not know anyone his own age?

Arg and Lydia were largely absent in this episode. We saw Arg take on his first day at a hospital radio station – in a quest to fulfil his dream of becoming a radio DJ, while Lydia went to visit Mr. Darcy at the farm. Uneventful.

“Majorly awkward but hilarious moment” of the episode occurs when Lucy tries on some lingerie for Jess, who is opening an underwear shop. (Yes! Yet ANOTHER of the TOWIE girls is opening a shop!)

Jess conveniently “pops out” to “get something” when in walks brother Mark, catching Lucy modelling some rather skimpy underwear. She shrieks and grabs a cushion, he smirks and says: “you’re looking smoking by the way” before walking out. Totes cringe, totes amazing!

So there you have it! You’re up to date bingo-lovers! Stay tuned for all the latest!

So, auditions are over, and we the X Factor final 16 have been revealed! The lucky few beat thousands of hopefuls to make it to the holy grail of talent television – the X Factor live shows. Their fate will now rely entirely on the voting public, as they battle to win a coveted recording contract!

The weekend’s double-bill was the most emotionally charged episode yet, with tears from pretty much everyone involved – including the judges!

While most of our favourites made it through, there were a few shocks and we’re gutted at a few of the acts who were sent home! What did you think?

Here’s a quick recap of the final 16:

    Girls

If there’s a defining characteristic of Kelly’s final four, it’s that they’re all so young! Amelia and Janet are just 16! There’s some amazing talent in this category, and some very different singing styles – we think Kelly has a very strong group!

    Amelia Lily, 16, from Middlesbrough

    Sophie Habibis, 19, from London

    Janet Devlin, 16, from Omagh

    Misha Bryan, 19, from Manchester

    Boys

Gary’s boys are again, all very different – from James Michael’s soft tones, to Craig Colton’s powerful voice. There’s also some great characters, which will make for brilliant TV!

    Frankie Cocozza, 18, from Brighton

    Marcus Collins, 23, from Liverpool

    Craig Colton, 22, from Liverpool

    James Michael, 20, from Cheshire

    Groups

Aside from 2 shoes, Tulisa has choses groups that the judges ‘manufactured’ at boot camp. While this means that they’re obviously what the judges want, and can all sing – it will be interesting how the virtual strangers adapt to spending 24/7 together!

2 shoes: Charley, 23 and Lucy, 21, from Essex.

    Rhythmix: Jessy, 20, Leigh-Anne, 19, Perrie, 18 and Jade, 18.

Nu Vibe: Richard, Bradley and Jordan, all 16. Ashford and Stefan, 19.

The Risk: Derry, 21, Ashley 22, Andrew, 20 and Charlie, 25.

    The Over 26’s

Louis has caused the most scandal with his choices – hundreds took to twitter and Facebook to complain that favourites such as Terry were sent home, while Kitty and Goldie (who later quit) were put through. Does Louis know what he’s doing? Or is he just hoping for another Jedward?

    Sami Brookes, 31, Rhyl

    Kitty Brucknell, 26, Cheltenham

    JonJo Kerr, 27, Wiltshire

    Johnny Robinson, 45, Harrow

Love the X Factor? Then you’ll love our X Factor themed scratchcard! It’s £1 to play, and you can win up to £1,000! Amazing! Give it a go by clicking here.
