Faye and Maisy have been nominated by their fellow housemates and will face the public vote this week.

Both the girls have been linked with unlikely ‘player’ Aaron and have shared kisses with the 30-year-old father of one under the duvet.

But it seems housemates have tired of the love triangle, and have left the public to decide which of Aaron’s love interests should be evicted!

Faye did herself no favours by arguing with Aaron the night before nominations, after shocking housemates by flirting outrageously with Anton.

Maisy too, has isolated herself from the group slightly, forming a gossipy twosome with fellow nominee Faye.

It’s going to be a tough call on who goes, but we think the public may be reluctant to see the end of Aaron and Faye’s relationship at this early stage!

One things for certain, we’ll be tuning in tonight to watch the reaction to these nominations – there’s bound to be fireworks!

Best Big Brother task ever? Tonight’s show is going to be hilarious!

Those poor housemates. Not only do they have to cope with arguments over biscuits, sussing out who fancies who, and seeing Mark naked ALL THE TIME, they also have to deal with meanie Big Bro!

Big Brother has set this week’s shopping task, and we have to say – it’s going to make hilarious viewing!

The housemates are not allowed to say NO to anything – or they will receive only basic food rations for the rest of the week. It may sound simple, but think about it… it means Big Brother can make them do anything. Literally anything.

So far, Mark’s been asked to complete the whole task naked (not really much of a challenge for him) Anton and Maisy have been asked if they want to give each other electric shocks, and Jay (who keeps moaning about being hungry) has been offered around 3 whole chickens – in a row.

While all these are going to be pretty hilarious to watch – as is Harry’s hunt themed photoshoot for the Gay Times – its Alex who has been set the most hysterical challenge.

Now, its pretty clear from looking at Geordie Alex that she’s no stranger to the tanning booth – but we have a feeling that Big Bro may have put her off fake baking for life!

Big Brother asked Alex to have a spray tan…then another… then another……and another! Remember, the poor girl can’t say no!

We’re not ones to laugh at others misfortune (not much anyway) but just LOOK at the colour on Alex now! Lightly tanned is one thing, even slightly orange is acceptable these days thanks to the TOWIE lot – but Alex looks like she’s been rolling around in mud!

What do you think of Alex’s new look – are you a fan of this task? We can’t wait to watch it all tonight! We’re pretty sure the pictures don’t quite do it justice!

Jedward have been set a mean task by Big Brother!

Jedward have been ordered to stay away from each other by Big Brother – or risk receiving an electric shock! The twins – who have been driving some fellow housemates barmy – were called to the diary room and set a challenge by Big Brother. They were given different coloured suits, and ordered to remain […]

Jedward have been ordered to stay away from each other by Big Brother – or risk receiving an electric shock!

The twins – who have been driving some fellow housemates barmy – were called to the diary room and set a challenge by Big Brother.

They were given different coloured suits, and ordered to remain at LEAST five metres apart from each other at all times. Big Brother warned that if they did not stick to this rule, they would get an electric shock  from a device fitted in their suits.

The task means that John and Edward – who found fame on the X factor in 2009 – will be forced to get to know fellow housemates better on their own, rather than a wacky pair.

To test how well they take on this challenge, the rest of the house will be tested on how well they know Jedward as individuals – and will win a disco if they answer enough questions correctly!

Poor Jedward! We think they might get a bit sad and lonely – they’re just so used to being together! As Edward said on the first day of the house- ‘What would I do without you here John?’

What do you think? Little bit mean, or hilariously funny?

xx

Big Brother vs. The X Factor …. Let the battle commence!

It’s been a weekend FULL of Reality TV, with two of the biggest shows in TV history competing for your attention. Yes, both Big Brother and the X Factor are back!

But who gets your vote – Do you prefer Gary, Tulisa, Dermot and their crew of wannabe singers? Or would you rather sit back and watch the likes of Kerry Katona, Amy Childs and Jedward preforming crazy tasks and gossiping about each other in the sauna?

We know, it’s a hard decision, which is why we’ve decided to help you out – with our helpful guide to the best, and the worst, of both shows this weekend.

Big Brother

Is love in the air for Amy and Lucien?

Watched by: 5.1 million (launch show)

Best moment: The show has only been on for three days, and already we’re finding it hard to choose our favourite moment.  Kerry’s ‘diva’ tantrum, that had the other housemates looking on in horror? Jedward using a WHOLE bottle of washing up liquid for their bath? No, we think Lucien’s lady drama stole the show this weekend! The 19-year-old actor admitted that he has the hots for Pamela – who’s old enough to be his mum – but there’s clearly a bit of a spark between him and Amy too… what’s going to happen? We can’t wait to find out!

Worst moment: Poor Kerry failed the task set for her by Big Bro when her fellow housemates voted Jedward as the biggest divas in the house, rather than her. As punishment, Kez is up for eviction this week – and had to choose two others to face the chop with her! A tearful Kerry spent ages dithering, and then had to face Bobby and Sally, who she eventually nominated. Isn’t Big Bro mean?!

CRINGE moment: Darryn’s ‘six pack’. We have to say, our eyes nearly popped out of our skulls when we saw Mr.Papparazzi’s sticky-outy abs as he chilled in the Sauna. He’s doesn’t have the most athletic build we’ve ever seen, and yet he seemed to be sporting a rather impressive six-pack! He was questioned by Paddy on the matter, and admitted he’s had sculpting surgery, to give the impression of a buff bod. Cringe!

What we can’t wait to see: More tasks! The housemates took part in an Ancient Egypt themed challenge this weekend, which involved them being mummified and playing musical chairs – all under the watchful eye of billionaire Mohammed Al-fayed – random, but brilliant! We want more like that, BB!

Overall rating: 7/10

The X Factor

Goldie gets a little too close to head Judge Gary!

Watched by: 12.6 million

Best moment: 16-year-old Janet Devlin belted out an amazing rendition of ‘Your Song’ by Elton John – that had the judges on the verge of tears! Her beautiful voice has the bookies tipping the Belfast lass as an early favourite to win the show, and we have to say we agree!

Worst moment: It all kicked off when George Gerasimou, 19, sang his version of ‘Gimme Everything’. George is no stranger to the competition – he auditioned in 2009, throwing his microphone to the ground when his singing was criticized.  The gobby youngster claimed that he had “matured”, but this proved to be untrue when judge Tulisa received a torrent of abuse after she told him the judges had “heard enough.” Gerasimou shouted: “You’re some scumbag trying to replace Cheryl. Some scumbag from the block.” Not nice!

CRINGE moment: Singer Goldie had us squirming in embarrassment as she wrapped her leg around head judge Gary Barlow’s neck during her audition! Her dance routine may have been pretty cringe-worthy, but the 48-year-old must have done something right, as she got through to bootcamp!

What we can’t wait to see: More of Gary’s surprisingly funny putdowns! Call us judgemental, but we had this idea that Mr Barlow was well, a bit boring. You know, the kind who settles down for a game of scrabble on a Friday night in his slippers. Well boy did he prove us wrong! Not only was Gary brilliantly firm with contestants, but he made us giggle more than once. Which is more than Simon’s ever done!

Overall rating: 9/10 – We had been a bit worried that the departure of both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole might leave the show lacking sparkle – but we were wrong! The new judges were brilliant, and gave the show a new lease of life.

So there you have it! Here at MyGala, we STILL can’t quite decide between the two – although there is something about the X Factor that we just can’t get enough of – but we do know one thing  for certain…we’re going to be watching A LOT of television for the next few weeks! Will you be doing the same?

And, if you love the idea of a battle, why not play Battle of the Clubs at Gala Bingo? There’s a massive 8k up for grabs each week, so get those tickets and let the games commence! All details can be found here. Happy playing!

Big Brother: Our Top Ten Housemates of all time!

The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here – The new series of Big Brother launches TONIGHT at 9pm on Channel 5! *scream*.

But even a few hours is a little too long to wait for us here at Gala, so to wet your appetites for tonight’s big show we’ve prepared a little BB themed treat for you all.

Yes, we’ve decided to choose our 10 best Big Brother housemates of all time – the ones who entertained us for weeks on end, had us chuckling into our cuppas and screaming with laughter at the telly. Have a little look and tell us what you think – who was your favourite?

Craig Phillips

A list of favourite BB contestants just wouldn’t be complete without this cheeky chappy. The Liverpudlian builder originally kept a low profile, but gained huge popularity when he confronted ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman who had been influencing votes. AND Craig is still on TV today – a whole 11 years later – He must be doing something right!

Brian Dowling

We know how much everyone loves Brian – the Irish scamp won not only his own series, but was also crowned Ultimate Big Brother champion! He won hearts with his sharp wit and caring nature… and is now the host of Channel 5’s relaunched show! Do you think he can fill Davina’s shoes?

Helen Adams

Helen, a hairdresser from Wales is probably best remembered for her now infamous quote: “I love blinking I do”. The ditzy blonde was also the first housemate to find love on the show, and the country watched with fascination as romance blossomed with fellow housemate Paul Clarke . And this was one relationship that didn’t turn off with the cameras – the couple stayed together for five years!

Jade Goody

So much has happened since Jade appeared on Big Brother – including her tragic death – that it’s hard to remember just how entertaining she was, with classic quotes including: ‘Is East Anglia abroad?’. One thing’s for certain – she won the nation over completely.

Nadia Almada

Transsexual Nadia broke was a first in Big Brother history, and quickly became a favourite with viewers. Her skill for gossip, infectious laugh and fiery tantrums made brilliant viewing – an unforgettable housemate!

Nikki Grahame

‘Who IS she? WHO IS SHE??’ – thanks to this little speech we all remember pint-sized Nikki Grahame , the tantrum throwing Big Brother favourite! Her diary room scenes were legendary, and she was so popular with the public that they voted to send her BACK into the house after she’d already been evicted!

Pete Bennett

Tourette sufferer Pete was an unlikely choice to win the entire series in the first few weeks. Yet after tons of both hilarious and touching moments he went on to take the crown. After leaving the house, wacky Pete and neurotic Nikki attempted to win the award for ‘strangest couple of all time’ but sadly broke up a very short time later (no surprises there).

Brian Belo

Essex lad Brian is possibly the nicest bloke Big Brother has ever seen. His unrequited love of twin Amanda Marchant warmed the hearts of the nation, as did his funny and optimistic nature. WE LOVE BRIAN!

Nick Bateman

The man we all love to hate, ‘Nasty’ Nick’s attempt to influence votes in the first ever series of Big Brother has made TV history. Nick also appeared on the ‘Ultimate’ version of the show, and managed NOT to get kicked out for cheating!

Josie Gibson

Bristol born Josie was just as popular with those inside the house as the public watching outside! Throughout her stay in the famous house she never once faced the public vote. She also won the show with the biggest margin in BB history, scoring a massive 77.7% of the final vote.

Eastenders Sid Owen rumoured to be entering the Big Brother house

There’s just three days to go until Big Brother returns to our TV screens, and here at Gala we’re struggling to contain our excitement! There’s just three days to go until Big Brother returns to our TV screens, and here at Gala we’re struggling to contain our excitement!

Channel 5’s re-launch of the hit reality show kicks off with a celebrity version on Thursday the 18th of August, and there’s one question on everyone’s lips – who’s going in that house?

The latest star rumoured to be joining the gang of famous housemates is none other than Eastenders favourite Sid Owen, who plays Ricky Butcher in the soap.

Sid – who came third in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2005 – made the decision to go into the house at the last minute, according to the Daily Star.

If gossip is to be believed, he could be joining the likes of Kerry Katona, Pamela Anderson and TOWIE’s Amy Childs – lucky Sid!

However, X-factor duo Jedward are also said to be confirmed for the show, and we reckon the pair – who are known for their crazy antics – may have Sid wishing he were back in the jungle eating bugs!

The celebrity version will be followed by a full-length Big Brother show featuring the latest crop of housemates hoping to follow in the footsteps of reality stars such as Brian Dowling, Jade Goody and Chantelle Houghton. Bring. It. On.

How well do you know your reality TV stars? Are you obsessed with Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity and X factor? If you answered yes to that last question – get yourself to galabingo.co.uk and play Top Trumps reality stars! Click here for your chance to win!

Ooh recognise all this lot??
Ok I must admit I was happy to be seeing the back of Big Brother once and for all, but after seeing this advert I can’t help but be a bit excited!  Maybe it is just the happy song or maybe it is indeed the return of the voice of Big Bro – Marcus Bentley.

Big Brother is set to return to our screens later this month kicking off with a celebrity version and then a “normal” version after it.  Well as normal as Big Brother can be I guess.  As usual there are lots of rumours flying about as to which celebs will appear in the house.  The latest rumour is that Charlie Sheen will be in the celeb house this year which would definitely be interesting to watch.

Is it a mistake to try and revive the show?  It may very well be but I am sure channel 5 have a few tricks up their sleeves to prove us all wrong.  I will miss “Big Brother house, this is Davina… you are live on channel 4 please do not swear!” but let’s wait and see how Brian Dowling copes with his new presenter role before we all cry into our pillows at the loss of Davina from Big Bro!

Let’s hope it turns out to be good, it will be interesting to see how the different time of year affects the show.  No sunbathing by the pool and the likelihood of a lot of rain means more time inside…!  Hmm, I predict a riot!!!
