It’s been a long three weeks, but the FINAL of Celebrity Big Brother takes place tonight! There’s still seven housemates left in the house which means this could be a pretty long eviction show – poor Brian Dowling will have lost his voice after interviewing all that lot!

Coral have Jedward as favourites to win at odd of 4/9, followed by Kerry Katona and Amy Childs. We’re not really surprised the Irish duo look set to claim the Big Brother crown – they haven’t been nearly as irritating as we expected – and have provided the most entertainment by far!

As for the rest of the housemates…. the will they/won’t they relationship between Amy and Lucien interested us at first – but got old pretty quickly… it’s starting to seem like a ploy to get more votes – everyone knows that the public are a sucker for a romance!

Bobby and Darryn – the word ‘miserable’ doesn’t even come close… cheer up guys! We’re getting pretty sick of watching you two mooching around the house. You do realise you’re on TV right? Paddy at least cracks a smile now and then, and we’re actually big fans of his – but we doubt he’s got the fanbase to compete with the likes of Jedward and Amy.

Kerry Katona has been slightly more entertaining, but predictable – and is no match for trouble-makers Jedward, who make everything in to a game. We still get the giggles when we remember narrator Marcus xx proclaiming: ‘4.25pm. Jedward have made a fort in the garden, and have been meditating inside for the past hour.’

One way or another it’ll all be over tonight… just in time for the non-celebrity version of Big Brother – which starts on Friday! Who do you want to win?

Big Brother vs. The X Factor …. Let the battle commence!

It’s been a weekend FULL of Reality TV, with two of the biggest shows in TV history competing for your attention. Yes, both Big Brother and the X Factor are back!

But who gets your vote – Do you prefer Gary, Tulisa, Dermot and their crew of wannabe singers? Or would you rather sit back and watch the likes of Kerry Katona, Amy Childs and Jedward preforming crazy tasks and gossiping about each other in the sauna?

We know, it’s a hard decision, which is why we’ve decided to help you out – with our helpful guide to the best, and the worst, of both shows this weekend.

Big Brother

Is love in the air for Amy and Lucien?

Watched by: 5.1 million (launch show)

Best moment: The show has only been on for three days, and already we’re finding it hard to choose our favourite moment.  Kerry’s ‘diva’ tantrum, that had the other housemates looking on in horror? Jedward using a WHOLE bottle of washing up liquid for their bath? No, we think Lucien’s lady drama stole the show this weekend! The 19-year-old actor admitted that he has the hots for Pamela – who’s old enough to be his mum – but there’s clearly a bit of a spark between him and Amy too… what’s going to happen? We can’t wait to find out!

Worst moment: Poor Kerry failed the task set for her by Big Bro when her fellow housemates voted Jedward as the biggest divas in the house, rather than her. As punishment, Kez is up for eviction this week – and had to choose two others to face the chop with her! A tearful Kerry spent ages dithering, and then had to face Bobby and Sally, who she eventually nominated. Isn’t Big Bro mean?!

CRINGE moment: Darryn’s ‘six pack’. We have to say, our eyes nearly popped out of our skulls when we saw Mr.Papparazzi’s sticky-outy abs as he chilled in the Sauna. He’s doesn’t have the most athletic build we’ve ever seen, and yet he seemed to be sporting a rather impressive six-pack! He was questioned by Paddy on the matter, and admitted he’s had sculpting surgery, to give the impression of a buff bod. Cringe!

What we can’t wait to see: More tasks! The housemates took part in an Ancient Egypt themed challenge this weekend, which involved them being mummified and playing musical chairs – all under the watchful eye of billionaire Mohammed Al-fayed – random, but brilliant! We want more like that, BB!

Overall rating: 7/10

The X Factor

Goldie gets a little too close to head Judge Gary!

Watched by: 12.6 million

Best moment: 16-year-old Janet Devlin belted out an amazing rendition of ‘Your Song’ by Elton John – that had the judges on the verge of tears! Her beautiful voice has the bookies tipping the Belfast lass as an early favourite to win the show, and we have to say we agree!

Worst moment: It all kicked off when George Gerasimou, 19, sang his version of ‘Gimme Everything’. George is no stranger to the competition – he auditioned in 2009, throwing his microphone to the ground when his singing was criticized.  The gobby youngster claimed that he had “matured”, but this proved to be untrue when judge Tulisa received a torrent of abuse after she told him the judges had “heard enough.” Gerasimou shouted: “You’re some scumbag trying to replace Cheryl. Some scumbag from the block.” Not nice!

CRINGE moment: Singer Goldie had us squirming in embarrassment as she wrapped her leg around head judge Gary Barlow’s neck during her audition! Her dance routine may have been pretty cringe-worthy, but the 48-year-old must have done something right, as she got through to bootcamp!

What we can’t wait to see: More of Gary’s surprisingly funny putdowns! Call us judgemental, but we had this idea that Mr Barlow was well, a bit boring. You know, the kind who settles down for a game of scrabble on a Friday night in his slippers. Well boy did he prove us wrong! Not only was Gary brilliantly firm with contestants, but he made us giggle more than once. Which is more than Simon’s ever done!

Overall rating: 9/10 – We had been a bit worried that the departure of both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole might leave the show lacking sparkle – but we were wrong! The new judges were brilliant, and gave the show a new lease of life.

So there you have it! Here at MyGala, we STILL can’t quite decide between the two – although there is something about the X Factor that we just can’t get enough of – but we do know one thing  for certain…we’re going to be watching A LOT of television for the next few weeks! Will you be doing the same?

And, if you love the idea of a battle, why not play Battle of the Clubs at Gala Bingo? There’s a massive 8k up for grabs each week, so get those tickets and let the games commence! All details can be found here. Happy playing!

The most talked about TV show of the last few months FINALLY hit our screens last night, and what a launch show it was!

Channel 5 pulled out all the stops to ensure that the relaunch of Big Brother was bigger and better than ever before. AND after weeks of speculation we found out just who was heading in to the house – at last!

As expected Tabloid Queen Kerry Katona, Essex babe Amy Childs and teen popstars Jedward were all revealed as housemates – but there were a few surprises in the line-up too! Read on for the full list, and all the gossip from the first show.

Kerry Katona

Tabloid queen Kerry was first in to the house, with a hairstyle that can only be described as ‘the Jedward’. She was clearly a bag of nerves, and cracked open the champers as soon as she got in to the house, proceeding to breathe far to heavily in to her microphone. She’s also been set the first challenge by Big Brother – read on to find out more!

Tara Reid

Was it just us, or did American Pie’s Tara, who got married just TWO days ago (she’s obviously not that bothered about having a honeymoon!) seem just a little bit on the strange side? She tottered up to host Brian Dowling with a look of complete confusion on her face, stumbled in to the house and started calling Kerry Katona, “Kerrah” – telly at its best, and this is just the launch show!

The bizarre sight of Kerry Katona sharing a glass of champagne with an American movie star was interrupted by the rest of the housemates – here’s a quick run down of just who you’ll be watching for the next three weeks!

Paddy Doherty

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’s Paddy seemed rather sweet considering he’s a bare knuckle fighter – but his accent is impossible to understand. The confused looks and blank stares as he introduced himself to his fellow housemates were priceless.

Amy Childs

No surprises here – the TOWIE star has been a rumoured Housemate for weeks. A very glamourous and pouty looking Amy strutted in to the house like a pro and greeted “Kerrah” like an old friend – they partied in Marbella this summer so BB will be a nice little reunion for the pair! We’re praying she asks Tara if she wants a Vajazzle!

Mr Paparrazi, Darren Lyons

Wacky Darren – a showbiz pap- arrived in a whirl of gold suit, pink Mohican and his pet parrot’s feathers hanging from his hair. An understated entrance then. Will the stars suck up to him in the hope the next pap shots of their misbehaviour may not be published? Time will tell!

Lucien Laviscount

Finally we were treated to a bit of eye candy in the form of actor Lucien, who you might recognize from Coronation Street. The cheeky chappy seemed to catch the eye of Amy straight away, as her eyelash fluttering and pouting went in to overdrive! Let’s hope this is the first signs of a romance brewing!

Sally Bercow

Sally is the wife of the Speaker in the House of Commons, and admitted that he wasn’t pleased she was taking part in the show. We think she seems feisty, and could make a very interesting housemate!

Pamela Bach Hasslehoff

Pamela, ex-wife of the infamous “Hoff” and Baywatch star was next into the house, after an entrance that can only be described as crazy. Host Brian Dowling – who we thought did a brilliant job, by the way – looked terrified as she hugged him, called him ‘buttercup’ and told him he looked like her dog! We think Pam is going to be pretty entertaining viewing.

Bobby Sabel

Hooray for model Bobby Sabel, who had all the females smiling the minute he walked down the stairs… unfortunately for them he admitted that he’s ‘rubbish with girls’!

Jedward

Last, but definitely not least, pop due Jedward came hurtling out on to the stage, cartwheeling hi-fiving and generally acting like two small children on Christmas morning – after eating a truckload of sugar. We’re not sure, but we think we may have heard Kerry mutter ‘oh no’ as they bounded into the house, while poor Tara seemed completely bewildered by the mad pair!

SO, that’s your lot – and here at Gala we think it’s a pretty amazing line-up! We’ll definitely be tuning in tonight to watch Kerry – who was set the first task by Big Brother. She has to throw a full-on diva strop and make sure the housemates vote her ‘biggest diva’ in a days time – bring it on!

Who do you want to win?

Eastenders Sid Owen rumoured to be entering the Big Brother house

There’s just three days to go until Big Brother returns to our TV screens, and here at Gala we’re struggling to contain our excitement! There’s just three days to go until Big Brother returns to our TV screens, and here at Gala we’re struggling to contain our excitement!

Channel 5’s re-launch of the hit reality show kicks off with a celebrity version on Thursday the 18th of August, and there’s one question on everyone’s lips – who’s going in that house?

The latest star rumoured to be joining the gang of famous housemates is none other than Eastenders favourite Sid Owen, who plays Ricky Butcher in the soap.

Sid – who came third in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2005 – made the decision to go into the house at the last minute, according to the Daily Star.

If gossip is to be believed, he could be joining the likes of Kerry Katona, Pamela Anderson and TOWIE’s Amy Childs – lucky Sid!

However, X-factor duo Jedward are also said to be confirmed for the show, and we reckon the pair – who are known for their crazy antics – may have Sid wishing he were back in the jungle eating bugs!

The celebrity version will be followed by a full-length Big Brother show featuring the latest crop of housemates hoping to follow in the footsteps of reality stars such as Brian Dowling, Jade Goody and Chantelle Houghton. Bring. It. On.

It’s All Change For TOWIE With Amy Childs’ Departure!

After weeks of speculation it was confirmed last week that Amy Childs had quit BAFTA winning show TOWIE in favour of pursuing other work.  As one of the most popular characters from the show, I wonder what effect it will have on viewing figures!

The bosses of TOWIE banned her from taking part in Celebrity Big Brother as they want their cast to remain normal and “real people.”  Err, too late I think!  Have they not seen all the constant press on the TOWIE crew?

What will the show be without our favourite vajazzler?  Her former co-star James aka Arg doesn’t think that her departure will make much difference to the show.  “In series two she was only in it now and then and series two was just as big as series one, if not bigger.  Obviously Amy will be missed but I think from how series two was received it proves the show is more than capable of carrying on without her.”

Personally I think the cast have all just gotten a little bit too big for their boots.  The best thing about TOWIE was the simplicity of it yet throughout the summer all we have seen are the cast posing on holiday, at premieres and promoting a whole host of different products.  Not to mention the battle of the TOWIE babes for who looks the best/the skinniest/the most tanned etc etc etc!  I don’t see how they can go back to filming TOWIE thinking it will be same because let’s face it they no longer have normal lives.

Well now that Amy is free of TOWIE she is set to appear on the new Big Brother alongside the likes of Kerry Katona and Jedward.  She has also already done some TV presenting on ITV’s This Morning which I assume is just the start of her new TV career.  As much as I love TOWIE, the fame that these guys have suddenly acquired was of course going to change some things for the show.  As for the rumours that bosses are pushing for the show to be on 48 weeks a year like Casualty, the words “too much of a good thing…” definitely come to mind!!!  Leave it as it is please so we can cherish the TOWIE moments instead of it being a regular occurrence!
