A team member at Mecca Chadwell Heath has gone for the chop in a bid to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Steve Semple, Operations Manager at Mecca Chadwell Heath, agreed to shave off all his hair for Mecca’s official charity of the year.

Steve said: “I suspect the team thought I wouldn’t do it but I said that if we reached the £300 target then I would definitely go for the chop. I think that proved enough of an incentive for everyone to put their hands in their pockets!

“The support from customers and team members has been fantastic. I’m going to have to get used to a lack of hair and having a cold head but at least I’ll be quicker in the shower.”

Marianne Fernandes, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, added:”Steve’s effort to raise money for charity is fantastic and I really don’t think that many people would agree to do such a thing. We really appreciate the club getting behind our charity to help us continue our work.”
